遗址
王兵于2005年在戈壁滩的前“劳改营”拍摄了《痕迹》，当时他正在为电影《夹边沟》寻找取景地，那里曾有成千上万的政治犯死于饥饿。他首次使用35毫米黑白胶片（艺术家杨福东的赠礼）来记录这片注定消失的土地。影片没有声音，记录了人类生命最后几乎难以察觉的痕迹：白骨、衣物、足迹……这部短片借鉴实验纪录片手法，呼应了王兵关注的其他主题：20世纪50年代初“反右运动”的历史，以及文化大革命前建立的劳改营。这部直到2014年才完成剪辑的影片，同年首次在蓬皮杜艺术中心展出，后于2018年在香塔勒·克鲁索画廊再次呈现。
